(Friday, June 23, 2006) -- A zoning application has been filed with the City to move the gas station planned for the southwest corner of Strandherd and Greenbank to a location in the southeast corner of Strandherd and Jockvale Road. The gas station would then be to the west of Swiss Chalet in the Barrhaven Town Centre. The reason cited is that the site is an odd shape making it difficult to develop. Both corners are on the Barrhaven Town Centre property. There is an added provision to allow for longer term leases and severance and still have the zoning conform. The site plan for the gas station includes a convenience store and car wash. There will be 8 parking spaces (including one handicap space) and 10 stacking spaces for the car wash. -- 30-- |
