Barrhaven Business Parks Strategy Released

(Monday, March 24, 2008) -- According to a newly released study of Barrhaven's business parks, professional/high tech or public administration organizations would be the best fit for the community's business mix.

In a report commissioned by the Barrhaven BIA, Barrhaven Business Park Strategy, The Corporate Research Group conducted an in-depth analysis of the South Merivale Business Park and the lands at Strandherd/Fallowfield/416.

The report indicates that, "Those sectors deemed to have the greatest potential to locate/relocate to the South Nepean lands are those in Public Administration and the Professional/Scientific sectors (meaning
high technology) and this reflects the existing presence of complementary firms - JDS and the RCMP."

The Manufacturing and the Transportation/Warehousing
sectors would also be a good fit, due mostly to the proximity of key transportation linkages (Highway 416, the Ottawa Airport and the future Rideau River bridge crossing).
